Bob Long's passion for weather began in 1960 during a school trip to a Pittsburgh planetarium, where a souvenir weather book sparked his interest. Soon after, he became a severe weather spotter for the National Weather Service at Akron/Canton Airport. Over the years, Bob developed a local storm spotter network in Portage and Summit counties, provided daily forecasts as WKNT's former news director, and educated community groups on severe weather safety. As the 88.9/WSTB Chief Forecaster, Bob produces daily forecasts and advises the City of Streetsboro and Streetsboro City School District during severe weather events.

Sam Labbe’s fascination with weather grew alongside his passion for aviation, ultimately earning him a private pilot license. As a student at Kent State University, Sam took numerous weather courses to deepen his understanding of meteorology and its critical role in aviation. A 2023 graduate of the 88.9/WSTB student program, Sam has continued his service now serving as a Weather Forecaster since the summer of 2024. He combines his broadcasting experience along with his aviation expertise and academic background to deliver precise and informative forecasts.
