Bill was always a stickler for putting forth your best effort. This scholarship is presented to a deserving senior displaying excellence in broadcasting during their tenure on staff.
DaNk Award
The “DaNk Award” is presented in honor of 2001 alum Dan Kuznicki. During his sophomore, junior, and senior years on staff, Dan dedicated over 2,000 hours of volunteer time to WSTB outside of school hours. This award is presented to a senior, selected by his or her senior peers, who stands out in service and dedication to WSTB.
Benji Award
The “Benji Award” is presented in honor of 2008 alum and current WSTB Network Administrator Ben Claussen. During his four years in high school Ben not only worked at the radio station, he also put in over 400 hours of volunteer time in the school and community helping with the school plays, talent shows, and assemblies. This award is presented to a senior who has been actively involved not just in radio, but in other extracurriculars.
Bob Hunt Scholarship
Hunt was a member of WSTB and graduated in 1987. Upon graduation he served in the military for five years (one in Korea) while attending the University of Akron, and as working as a case aide at Block Clinic. On May 9th of 1993, he tragically passed away. From 1994 to 2000, Bob Long and WSTB established the Bob Hunt Memorial Scholarship in his remembrance.
