Where’s the rain from T.S. Fay?

It’s been a week since Tropical Storm Fay slid into Florida and still the moisture from Fay remains well to our south. A blocking HIGH is keeping the moisture from moving northward. (see graphic) Our best guess at this time is that it will be the end of the week, maybe even later, before the rain moves up.

Lots of 4th of July fireworks in the area this weekend. The weather will be marginal on Friday evening as some showers may be in the area. However, Saturday looks to be no problem.

Here’s a list of where you can go to watch the “boom-booms”…

Friday

Bainbridge @ River Road Park

Solon @ Solon Community Park

Saturday

Kent @ Fred Fuller Park

Hudson @ Barlow Farm Park

Hiram @ Hiram College

Portage Lakes @ Turkeyfoot Lake State Park

Streetsboro @ Woodside Lake Park ($5 parking donation)

Enjoy!

Come see us this weekend in Stow and Kent!

Hey…come out and see us this July 4th weekend!

On Friday morning, the AlterNation crew will be marching in the Stow Fourth of July Parade down SR 59.  The parade starts at 10am at the Kent State Airport and ends at Holy Family School.

On Saturday, July 5th we will be at the Kent Heritage Fesitval in downtown Kent. The green AlterNation hut will be set up at the top of the Main Street Hill by the Kent Stage. Drop by, say hi, and pick up a bumper sticker. We’ll be there from 9am-5pm.

It’s “jacket weather”

Talk about extremes! We end the month of May with temperatures in the 90s, then by mid-June we are back into the 60s’ Looks like a cool week this week. Daytime highs are going to be running about 10 degrees below normal. Oh well, it’ll be a nice break before we warm up again..and we will warm up. Next week we should be back to normal and slightly above, meaning daytime highs will be back into the 80s. So, just get out your jacket and enjoy the rest of the week. These little changes keep things from getting boring.
